Combining travel options

Using a combination of different transport options can be a good way to travel smarter and save time and money. You could walk, bike or drive to your local train station or bus stop and then use public transport to get into town. Or you could drive part of your journey and then walk or cycle the rest of the way. Carpooling is another alternative.

Car share clubs

Car share clubs rent out cars by the hour. The cars are usually located in the central city or suburbs, close to public transport, making it easy to combine different forms of transport. To participate in the car share club, you pay an annual membership fee and then rental fee anytime you rent a car. This means you don't have the responsibility or costs associated with car ownership, but can have access to a car when you need one.
