| Driver Licensing Amendment [2011] (Rule 91001/7) |
This Rule implements safety intervention recommendations in the Road Safety 2010 strategy and in the Government's "Safer Journeys – New Zealand's Road Safety Strategy 2010 -2020", including strengthening the requirements relating to young and novice drivers. Other proposed changes relate to proof of identity, clarifying the treatment of international driver licences, the form of the licence and licence classes. | Final Rule |
| Passenger Service Vehicles Amendment (Rule 31001/6) |
New Zealand standards for passenger service vehicles lag behind those countries from which we import our vehicles. The intent of the amendment of this Rule will be to bring its requirements up to date to cater for new technology vehicles entering the fleet. The planned full review and revision of the Rule, previously advised, will now be undertaken at a later date. | Draft Rule being finalised for signature. |
| Road User Amendment (Rule 61001/6) |
This amendment Rule will change the give-way rules for turning traffic (part of the Safer Journeys package) from 5am on 25 March 2012 and make other minor changes. These include aligning the Road User Rule with changes to the Traffic Control Devices Rule. | Final Rule |
