The guide also provides best practice information from the members of the Agricultural Transport Forum which is comprised of industry representatives including Rural Contractors New Zealand, Horticulture New Zealand, Tractor and Machinery Association, Federated Farmers, and New Zealand Agricultural Aviation Association as well as the Police.

Updates in the 2009 guide include more information on vehicle weight limits and overweight permits as well as changes to the law to allow certain tractors and combination vehicles to be driven on a class 1 licence provided they are not driven at a speed exceeding 30 km/h.
