In April, motorway widening moved to the median through St Marys.
The historic Rob Roy Hotel was returned to its original location which, in 1886, was the Freemans Bay foreshore.
The hotel now sits on the roof of the Victoria Park Tunnel, near the tunnel entrance.
As when it was moved out of the way of the tunnel construction, the return trip attracted plenty of onlookers.

Minister of Transport, Steven Joyce, visited VPT and walked through the partly completed tunnel.
The Minister took the opportunity to meet some of the tunnellers.
Above ground, cranes lined up to lift firewall panels into the tunnel.
Behind the noise wall in St Marys Bay, the team built the Beaumont St to Pt Erin walkway.
The finished path, ready for landscaping, alongside the northbound motorway lanes.
On the opposite side of the motorway, native grasses were planted along Westhaven Drive.
The first section of truss for the Jacobs Ladder Footbridge arrived on site.
Facing panels topped by the palisade-style fencing for the walkway were installed at the Fanshawe St on-ramp.
Nikau were among the trees and shrubs that arrived on site, ready for autumn planting along the foot of the St Marys Bay cliffs.
