How approved organisations attract investment for activities

Updated: 11 January 2012

To obtain Government transport funding - from the National Land Transport Fund (NLTF) - approved organisations must ensure the activities they want NLTF funding for are included in the regional land transport programme. Councils also provide funding for local transport networks and services from rates and developer contributions.

Proposing activities for the regional land transport programme

To do this, approved organisations have to put proposals to the regional transport committee. The committee is the body that develops the regional land transport programme, and they decide on their own process. Committees generally follow the process suggested in our Planning & Investment Knowledge Base.
