Maintenance and management

Only a well-maintained state highway network can provide safe, efficient and reliable roads for those who need them - freight transporters, tourism and public transport operators and everyday New Zealanders for work, recreation and simply getting around. We employ a range of consultants and contractors who maintain the state highway network on our behalf. This is done through 25 'sub networks' around the country, known as 'Network Management Areas'.
