Cape Reinga SH1 sealing project starts final phase

Sealing the last remaining 19 kilometres of SH1 - to Cape Reinga in Northland - is now in its closing stages with work beginning on the final five kilometres to Waitiki Landing where the sealed section of the national highway currently ends.
Beams lifted into place on railway bridge

24 beams were successfully lifted into place across the final two spans of the North Island Main Trunk Railway bridge overnight on Wednesday 3 and Thursday 4 February as part of the NZ Transport Agency’s SH20-1 Manukau Extension project.

A 35-metre steel pylon will be erected tonight at the site of the new Beachcroft Avenue footbridge over the Southwestern Motorway (SH20) at Onehunga.
